I am Becoming!

I am Becoming.

I am becoming she. I am becoming the woman that I always dreamt I'd be. May not rich in wealth but i am becoming she that is rich in spirit and health.

I am becoming the she that many never thought I'd be they thought I'd be 16 and pregnant standing in the welfare line to collect my free handout, yup that's exactly how they predicted me. No wonder it took so long for me to lose my virginity. they cursed me into thinking I'd be nothing more than ugly.

I am becoming like how my fairytale in my head i dreamed countless times over and over only sometimes I'd wish i never had to wake up to the reality that all they said I'd grow to be was Cinderella before her fairy god mother.

I am becoming more than what she said she knew for sure I'd be maybe just like my mother in her past days looking for that crack to keep her mind astray from her actual reality. but i guess she woke up cause her reality now is doing everything she can to be better in life that's good cause 10 yrs clean is hard congrats mom, maybe i don't mind being compared to the woman you are cause your strength i admire thee

I am becoming that she that she is that woman that every girl wants to be maybe an Oprah or a condoleezza rice maybe even Tyra with her forehead shinning bright.

But i don't wanna be the she that every other wants to be. I am becoming that she that people look up to and they wanna follow me.

I am becoming the woman that they never imagined i could be and that woman i define today and that young woman is me.

I overcame the lies they told me, the heart they bestowed upon me cause with out their hatred i would never be the woman i am today.

I am becoming the woman I always dreamt i be glad that my dream is becoming reality because i am finally the girl who is the woman she knew she'd always be
